Privacy policy.
This page explains how Web by Riley handles personal information when you use the website, send an enquiry or become a client.
Who is responsible for your information
Web by Riley is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact Riley at riley@webbyriley.co.uk with a privacy question or request.
Website enquiry form
The enquiry form sends the details you provide to Riley’s business email address. The form uses validation, a hidden spam field and timing checks to reduce automated submissions. If secure form delivery is unavailable, the website offers to open a prepared message in your email app instead.
Information you choose to share
If you send an enquiry, you may share your name, business name, email address, approximate budget, hosting preference and project details. This information is used to respond, prepare a quote, take steps you request before a contract and provide agreed services.
Lawful basis
Enquiry and client information is handled where it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract or to perform an agreed contract. Web by Riley may also rely on legitimate interests to manage ordinary business communications, keep the website secure and maintain appropriate business records, where those interests do not override your rights.
Service providers and website data
Email is handled by the Web by Riley email provider. The hosting provider may process standard technical request information such as an IP address, browser type and request time to serve and secure the website. The site also loads font files through Google Fonts. Information is not sold, and it is only shared where needed to provide the website, email or agreed services, or where the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
The current Web by Riley website does not use advertising cookies or visitor analytics. The hosting provider may use essential technical storage or security logs needed to operate and protect the service.
How long information is kept
Information is kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed to answer an enquiry, provide requested services, maintain necessary business and financial records, resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation. Old enquiry correspondence and project information that is no longer required is reviewed and deleted.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your information, object to certain processing or receive information you provided in a portable format. You can make a request by emailing Web by Riley. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
